What is a book?
By: Rachel Perkins
I believe that a book no matter what form it may be should be something that tells a story. I believe that a book should take you on an adventure and tell you things that you have never heard before. A book should use your imagination by letting you picture what is happening. I don't believe that the way you read it will effect what makes a book or not as long as it is telling you a story what is the problem with reading it on a Ipad, Phone, or kindle. The writer I most agree with is Joe Meno. He agrees with the fact that it doesn't matter what form a book may be as long as lets you explore your imagination then you are reading a book. A book should let you imagine what the setting may look like or the character. In todays society we are being shown everything and have little room to use are imagination which is what I think one of the purposes of writing a book may be, to let us freely think. If you search up the actual definition it will say that a book is a written or printed work consisting of pages glued together. I disagree with the definition because it is not saying anything about how a book should tell a story or the message it should convey it only talks about the physical appearance. The only difference between a book on paper and a book on a kindle or any other electronic would be the way it looks and the weight. The words on the screen or page still stay the same, the plot never changes only the way it looks and feels.
